Thank you for being my friend for 13 years,
We understood each other,
But You had the upper hand.
Thank you for nurturing every lost animal that crossed your path,
be it canine, feline or undetermined.
And for keeping my feet warm at night,
And for purring when I didn't deserve it.
But mostly, thank you for showing me your courage
when it came time to cross the Rainbow Bridge.
And for letting me know it really ain't nothing more
than taking off a too-tight shoe.
